Cheryl Samek

Cheryl Samek  is Chimp Haven’s Caregiver Supervisor. Moving to Louisiana from Panama City, Florida, Cheryl has a degree in Environmental Science / Policy and as AS degree in Zoo Keeping and Environmental Science Technology. She is also a Certified Wildlife Biologist and has over 20 years of captive exotic animal management, veterinary work, wildlife field work, biomedical research and wetland ecology experience!  Cheryl has volunteered for the Siyafunda Conservation Initiative in Hoedspruit, South Africa, where she monitored elephants for immuno-contraceptive research and collected spatial data on predator / prey densities.  When asked why she chose her line of work, Cheryl said, “To quote Jane Goodall, ‘I wanted to talk to the animals like Dr. Doolittle’.”

Larry Robinson

Larry Robinson serves as a member of Chimp Haven's wonderful and knowledgeable Care Staff. He is responsible for preparing food for and feeding the chimpanzees in addition to many other duties related to the direct care of the chimpanzees.

Paul Hearn

Paul Hearn is a member of Chimp Haven's Maintenance staff. Paul works tirelessly every day to ensure the grounds and buildings of Chimp Haven are kept in pristine condition. Paul is a wonderful addition to Chimp Haven's exceptional maintenance department.
